US President Donald Trump has promised on Thursday (27th August) that if he is re-elected in the office of President, America will be seen landing the first woman on moon ushering in a new era of ambition in space. The President was also seen promising to build the best cyber and missile defense across the globe and win the race to 5G.
These remarks as made came after he formally accepted to be the Republican nomination for a second term.
Trump was seen addressing to the Republican National Convention from the South Lawn of White House stating “ We will launch a new age of American ambition in apace. America will land the first woman on the moon – and the United States will be the first nation to plant its flag on Mars”.
A few days prior, the current president had managed to secure enough votes to win the GOP nominations to be re-nominated as the Republican Party’s presidential candidate. Vice President Mike Pence had also been re-nominated as his running mate.

Over the weekend, Trump’s campaign released a 49 point second-term agenda “Fighting for You!” as per which the current president seems to be promising “a first manned mission to Mars, launch space force and establish a permanent presence on the moon”.
He also didn’t fail to mention that during his first term in office his administration had managed to launch the Space force which is the first new branch of US military in 75 years after Air Force was created.
The US elections are due to be held on 3rd November 2020 and Trump will be seen challenged by Joe Biden the former Vice President of the Democratic Party.
