The Donald Trump current president of the United States (US), has been formally re-nominated by the Republican Party as its candidate for the coming presidential elections that are to be held on November 3rd, 2020. The 74-year-old president will be seen standing against Joe Biden, the former Vice President for Democratic Party.
Trump is scheduled to give his acceptance speech on the 27th of August from the South Lawns of White House.
The current president will be competing for a second term after he managed to secure more than needed votes after a roll call, from the delegates and proceeded to win the GOP nominations on the first day of the Republic National Convention. The GOP convention takes place once in four years and is being held through virtual means due to the coronavirus pandemic

The current president managed to secure enough votes during the Republican National Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina to be re-nominated as a presidential candidate. Vice President Mike Pence has also been re-nominated to be the running mate of Trump.
As per reports, the serving officials are usually to keep away from the party conventions until they have given their acceptance speech but Trump showed up at the event anyway.
The Republican Party officials have stated that their convention where Trump will be seen speaking each night at 10 shall overshadow the telethon-like show of the Democrats. The US President and his allies have often referred to the Democrat show as ‘dark’.
Trump on Fox News on Thursday said “We’re going to have more of it live than what they did. I think it’s pretty boring when you do tapes”.
