RAJASTHAN REOPENS ALL RELIGIOUS PLACE: With the center issuing guidelines for Unlock 3.0 that loosens up activities in areas outside containment zones, it is fascinating to see how the different state governments plan on fighting the increasing number of cases in their state alongside implementing Unlock 3.0 guidelines that kick start on 1st August 2020.
Bihar government seems to be relaxing and tightening restrictions at the same time by keeping the night curfew intact yet opening up a lot of other facilities with safety measures. While on Thursday (30th August), the Rajasthan government decided to reopen all religious places for common devotees from 1st September.
Chief Minister, Ashok Gehlot has asked all the district collectors to oversee arrangements so as to ensure social distancing and other safety measures are kept into consideration while the religious places operate.
The government of Rajasthan issued a statement and said “ all religious places in the state to re-open for common devotees from September 1. The Home Ministry will issue a guideline for the same, in the wake of COVID. CM Gehlot has instructed all district collectors to make arrangements, ensuring social distancing and health protocols”.
In addition to this, as per Chief Minister’s instructions “Gram Rakshaks” are also to be selected for all Gram Panchayats by end of this month (31st August) to help coordinate between the police and the public.
The state government said “CM Ashok Gehlot has also instructed to select Gram Rakshaks for all gram panchayats till August 31. CM said that these gram rakshaks will coordinate between Police and public so that the trust for Police increases among the public”
As per the data collected by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Rajasthan so far has reported having more than 10,000-active case of COVID-19. Containment zones are still to remain under strict lockdown till 31st August 2020 throughout the nation.
